I. Reasons for serving in TCV Schools
  1. Being an alumni of TCV family.
  2. Strong commitment to serve in community.
  3. To fulfill the wishes and commitments of His holiness the XIV Dalai Lama.
  4. To develop and improve myself.
II. Commitment
  1. To become an educator.
  2. To serve for at least five years in TCV School Selakui, until and unless any situation that hinders teaching career.
  3. To continue teaching profession even after serving five years if my presence could bring positive changes among students.
III. Objectives
  1. To develop self reliant and life long learners.
  2. To inspire and motivate students to adopt research based learning
  3. To prepare students to become good person with clear commitment and goals in their lives
  4. To encourage and guide students to pursue various professional career in future rather than pursuing degree in pure science.
IV. Subject based objectives
  1. To expose student to contemporary areas in biology (like environment, industry, health and agriculture).
  2. To promote understanding of basic principles of Biology;
  3. To promote rational/scientific attitude towards issues related to population, environment and development
  4. To create awareness amongst the learners about diversity in the living organisms and developing respect for other living being

Tips for preparing CBSE Biology Board Examination (AISSCE)

  • Biology is a visual science. Pay attention to the figures (diagrams, charts, graphs, picture, tables). Study all the figures thoroughly with their discription. Pictures will say thousand words.
  • Study concepts along with examples if available.
  • Take advantage of end chapter summaries of your NCERT XI Biology textbook in addition to reading textbook.
  • Study latest CBSE sample papers of past 3-5 years.
  • Go through past 3-5 year's CBSE Board examination papers.
  • Study for half an hour and taking few minutes break
  • Write things out and learn by revealing concepts in outline or concept maps.
